What Is the Box Stream Machine?

The Box Stream machine is an inline corrugated box production line that combines printing, die-cutting and folder gluing. In a conventional plant, these steps need separate machines, separate operators and a lot of stacking and forklift movement between them. Every handover adds labour, waste and the risk of damaged or misaligned sheets. Box Stream removes those handovers. Flat corrugated sheets go in at one end, and counted, glued and finished cartons come out at the other.

The “bottom print” design prints on the underside of the sheet using vacuum transfer, so the board is carried by suction rather than being squeezed between rollers. This protects the flutes, keeps the board strength (ECT) intact, and helps deliver crisp, well-registered print even on demanding jobs.

What Is Included in the Complete Line

  1. Fully automatic servo no-crush lead edge feeder with dust remover – feeds every sheet accurately and cleans it before printing.

  2. Vacuum transfer 2-colour flexo bottom printer – prints logos, brand names and handling marks with high registration accuracy.

  3. Rotary die-cutting machine (independent servo drive) – cuts slots, hand holes, vents and profiles cleanly and consistently.

  4. Waste removal system – blows out and conveys die-cut waste away from the machine.

  5. Stability unit (patent applied) – protects the flutes and squares the carton before the glue sets.

  6. Folding and gluing section (both sides of the machine) with counter – folds, glues and delivers batches of counted cartons.

  7. Bottom lock attachment – lets the same line produce crash lock bottom cartons as well as straight-line cartons.

Key Features of the Box Stream Machine

1. Servo No-Crush Lead Edge Feeder with Dust Removal

Clean, accurate feeding is the foundation of good printing and cutting. The feeder uses a servo-driven, pressure-free vacuum design that moves sheets gently and precisely.

  • 7-row double lead edge feeding system (4+3) with vacuum adsorption wheels, for smooth and stable feeding of warped boards.

  • Suitable for boards from 1.5 to 11 mm, with continuous feeding or skip feeding.

  • Feeding precision of ≤ ±0.5 mm, with the side squaring device and electrically adjusted baffles controlled from the touch screen.

  • Powerful dust removal with an anti-static bar and centralised dust collection, which supports high-definition and large-area printing while reducing ECT loss.

  • Auto zeroing on the feeder and printer, so every unit shares the same reference point and set-up waste stays low.

  • Electric adjustment of the feeding baffle, left and right baffles and paper tray, plus a quick-release paper feed shaft for fast changeovers.

  • Full Delta (Taiwan) automatic control system (PLC, inverter and touch screen), with box parameters entered on the main touch screen so a one-click order change resizes the machine.

  • Monitoring displays: a 23.5-inch colour display on the feeder plus a rear-side imaging monitor on the die-cutting unit, so the operator can watch the back of the machine.

2. Two-Colour Vacuum Transfer Flexo Bottom Printing Unit

Each of the two printing stations has its own independent servo phase control, so printing and impression happen in sync, and each unit can store orders for repeat jobs.

  • Vacuum transfer with pressure-free feeding, which prevents board crushing and stops blanks from being damaged.

  • Ceramic anilox roller (250–600 LPI) with doctor blade on each unit, customisable to your print requirements, for clear, high-definition results.

  • Printing registration accuracy of ≤ ±0.25 mm.

  • IR dryer on every print station (2 units), plus a small auxiliary IR drying device, to speed up ink drying.

  • Chrome-plated plate cylinder with a plate hanging groove and cushion, made from quality steel that has passed strict dynamic and static balance tests. Compatible with plate thickness of 4.8–7.2 mm (including cushion).

  • Digital circumference and phase setting on the touch screen: electric 360° positive and negative adjustment of the printing roller, with a shifting range of ±10 mm and a roller-correcting device to fix skewed plates quickly.

  • Automatic ink washing device and an air-gun cleaning device for the printing roller, to shorten clean-up time.

  • Ink-saving circulation system with a dual-directional diaphragm ink pump, a short-ink alarm and an imported ink reversing valve that saves water and ink.

  • Safety braking device that stops the machine when personnel enter it.

  • Vacuum case features: precisely machined and chrome-plated seamless tube, Japanese roller bearings on the cage roll shafts, multi-point oiling, an inverter-controlled fan with adjustable airflow, and an automatic air gate that adjusts the suction area to the cardboard size.

3. Rotary Die-Cutting Unit with Independent Servo Drive

The die-cutting unit is driven by its own independent servo system (KEB, Germany). Phase and axial settings are adjusted electrically from the touch screen, with fine-tuning possible while the machine is running.

  • Die-cutting accuracy of ≤ ±1.5 mm, backed by dynamically and statically balanced cylinders.

  • Differential compensation device that automatically compensates for the change in roller linear speed after the anvil is repaired or ground, so cutting accuracy is maintained over the life of the machine.

  • Maxdure (Taiwan) anvil cover, easy to change with a long service life, plus a C.U.E quick-change die-cut anvil with grinding mechanism.

  • Electrically set roller gap, pneumatic self-locking of the die-cutting roll, die cylinder shifting of ±10 mm and anvil lateral movement of ±20 mm with an overload protector.

  • Waste removal: an air duct blows out chips, a brush strips them, and a strapping conveyor belt carries the waste out of the machine.

  • Rotary die size from 430 × 430 mm up to 1200 × 1450 mm.

4. Independent Control Cabinet with Order Memory

  • Windows-based CNC control system with large order storage and fault-finding support.

  • One-key order adjustment: enter the box parameters once, and the whole machine sets itself up, stores the order and recalls it for repeat jobs.

  • Connectable to your factory ERP or production management system, so orders and production data can flow into your existing workflow.

5. Stability Unit (Patent Applied)

Many inline lines lose quality in the folding section, where flutes can collapse or cartons can drift out of square. The Box Stream stability unit is designed to stop that.

  • Prevents flute collapse by applying the correct pressure, so the flutes are not crushed during forming, a critical issue for box strength.

  • Final squaring: corrects fishtailing and uneven folding, using guides and belts to bring all panels to a true 90-degree alignment before the glue fully sets.

  • Supports higher-quality boxes and a more efficient manufacturing process.

6. Folder Gluer Section – Folding, Gluing and Delivery

The folding section is unit-type in structure and driven by independent motors. It is controlled from a human interface with a wireless remote, which gives operators more freedom to move around the machine.

  • Aligner: registers the blank to one side of the machine so it is perfectly parallel before entering the pre-folding or gluing section. It is independently driven by an AC motor and quick to set up.

  • Pre-folding (optional): left-hand glue flap pre-folder up to 180°, third crease line pre-folder up to 135°, and 1st and 3rd crease openers.

  • Creasing system: an independent scoring section placed right after the side-register section and before pre-folding. It allows deep scores where needed.

  • Lock bottom section: a complete set of folding hooks and helixes for smooth, accurate folding of the front flaps, with adjustable hook tension and a set of accessories for “B” lock bottoms.

  • Glue tank: an oversized stainless steel glue wheel developed to deliver glue accurately without splashing, even at high speeds. The paste cylinder is easy to clean, all components are easily removable, and both glue stations fill automatically.

  • Folding station: smooth and accurate folding of the 2nd and 4th creases. The outer folding belts adjust up to 180° with variable speed control by two independent servo motors (left and right side). Three sets of upper and lower carriers use 34 mm upper, 50 mm lower and 100 mm outer belts. A mini-box folding device is also available.

  • Trombone station: independently driven by an AC motor, with upper and lower drive mechanisms for length adjustment. It supports a perfect under-stack or over-stack stream of boxes, automatic belt tension adjustment, and continuous, automatic box collection that keeps the flow aligned into the press section.

  • Delivery section: constant flow with adjustable forward, backward, up and down positioning to suit each carton design, independent motor drive and pneumatically adjustable conveyor pressure to prevent marks on the boxes.

  • Batch counter with an electronic sensor, so every stack leaves the machine counted.

7. Designed for Faster Job Changeovers

  • FASTRACK time dissolver at the final folding section, designed to reduce the roughly two hours of downtime per day that plants lose when switching between two-track and three-track folding jobs.

  • Easily replaceable belts: the outsourcing-packed belts can be changed without disassembling shafts in most sections.

  • Motor-adjusted conveyors throughout the machine.

  • Longer folding and closing section that lets corrugated cartons fold smoothly and minimises fishtail issues.

  • Clapping device at the trombone section to prevent fishtail or cross-pasting on low-height self-lock and disproportionate cartons.

  • Standard accessories for A & B type straight-line cartons are included.

Production Capacity

Speed on paper only matters if it turns into finished boxes. As a reference, the Box Stream machine can deliver approximately 42,000 cartons per hour on straight-line jobs and approximately 15,000 cartons per hour on crash lock bottom jobs, depending on box design, board quality and operator set-up. Because the line prints, cuts and folds in one pass, it removes the queues that build up between separate machines in a conventional plant.
