Classification of Corrugated Boxes
By number of plies
Ply refers to number of layers and usually determines the weight carrying capacity. E.g. 3 -Ply, 5- Ply, 7-Ply etc.
Flutes
Flutes are the S shaped waves/arches of a corrugated box which provide strength to the board. Based on number of flutes per foot, it is classified as A, B, C, E etc.
Slots
lotted boxes permit folding, and these are shipped & stored flat and assembled as needed by end users
Based on the type of raw material, corrugated boxes are made from either Virgin paper (Kraft paper) or Recycled paper (Semi kraft)
